Aoktar,I have been trying to get the glass material in the new library to allow light to pass through. But so far I have tried several of them with no success. Any suggestions? (the arched area has no glass)

Hi Buzby,
Just some more info... For this you will need to do one of two things:
1) Use PT or PMC and set caustic blur to 0.02 or so.
2) Use direct lighting and enable "fake shadows" on the glass material.
(and for both as Ahmet says enable alpha shadows)
Thanks
Chris.

Doh! I was using 0.30 of the plugin. I dont know how I missed 0.42 release. I will try your suggestions.
This is probably more of a C4d question, from the king of the noobs, but why in the world does c4d not show this scene in its preview window? I have to keep scrolling middle mouse button until I am practically in the middle of a building to view anything, but I can see it fine in OR

it seems a problem related c4d. Maybe viewport clipping or shading settings

Thanks again Ahmed I will ask in C4d cafe. Alpha shadows are working well, I did not try any other setting yet

Hello together,
I am absolut excited about octane - fast, verry nice quality and simple to handle. But the material system is a little bit different to C4D-materials. I try to generate a realistic car spotlight but I have nor idea how to realise this because the glass material has not a good light reflection transmission and how I can change the refraction index?
Please give me tips how I can creat a spotlight for example like this

Thnak you very much and best regards, Udo

FYI I am getting a consistent crash in C4D when using LiveDB downloading Chromed steel 1 554, and Black paint, and more. Anyone else reporting this? Seems like it will be better to use Octane library for now?

LiveDB is still not completed. Has a few missing nodes so they can cause crashes
New video to show New geometry update functionality and some others. This mode is getting far better now, but still has a minor update issues.
I hope will be much better until released

Wow! I think yours functions better than what I have seen in the 3DS Max version. Now I don't feel like C4D is second rate to 3DS Max. You are doing a remarkable job Ahmed, inspiring!
