Normals Procedural Shader
In C4D, user have a Normalizer shader, which can generate normal map based on any texture (grayscale or color). This is super useful and save a lot of time. In c4d, I just drag n drop picture in normalizer shader and get a nice result. In octane I need to use other software to generate normal map and sometime its take a lot of time.
Thanks !
Zoom level indicator and Solo-Button and Layershader

... sounds pretty unimportant but when it comes to render i whished this feature more than once - why is there no information about the actual zoom level of the displayed image?
Beside that a solo-Feature would be nice to have - a simple button and everything else than the active material is invisible.
last but not least a mixed-material where i can simple add as many layers as i want and each layer gots an own layer-mask just like in PS ?
the greatest would be if i can mix the textures with blendmodes - the layershader of c4d is a great thing and a good example of what i am talking about.
would this be possible in the future?!
Ah and maybe a real level-adjustmentcurve of the render in the imager instead of just a gammavalue?
that would be great

Yes, I think it's cool feature, too. Anyway, we have a topic dedicated to this theme - layer shader.
About other features:
1. More procedural shaders (Noises, Generators). I'm a C4D user so I compare Octane features to C4D features. Great thing in c4d - is layer shader (with many blendmodes like Photoshop) and many generators (Noise etc). So I can use a great power of this layers and create a great textures without other software. When I'm using Octane I need first of all: use different soft to generate normal maps, use different soft or download noises and other grunge textures. Now, to compensate this I'm using Substance Designer but it is side software and it cost a money.
2. Hair. I have to generate Hair as polygons and then Octane can render this. More RAM, more time.
3. Blendmodes for mix material
4. Stable node system
Hope to see this features in Octane 3.0
Can't wait and thanx!

Integrated Fish Eye Lens
This is a very helpful feature to have in the process in the creation of fulldome content. With all of the panoramic options already set up in the Octane Camera tag (Cinema 4D Plugin) - would this be very hard to add?
VRay has a very integrated fisheye camera for Max and Cinema 4D.
Here is a list of the render engines that have built in Fish Eye lenses.

Hopefully Octane, and its plugins, can include this feature!

Hair UVs so we can shade them over their length and plugin properly to Cinema 4D hair and shave module.

Standalone Feature Request
"Enable/Disable viewing of camera nodes when selected."
As an toolbar option in the scene pane.
Having the ability to just click on a camera node without making a connection to the render target would really speed viewing the scene while working.
similar to current options:
rendertarget, mesh, material and texture options.

This suggestion is simple: allow the render region outline to be hidden, so I can render a region without turning it off when I don't want to see the outline. I often accidentally forget to put it back on before unpausing the render.

Something I'm missing is an image defined camera. Basically an RGB image that defines the ray vectors per pixel (with the differential determined by the adjacent pixels). This would allow us to define our own camera distortion or projection. Could even use it for baking to a UV map.

We're working on something like this for he v3 camera baking system.
