Great to hear that you found a solution that way. It does not work here, but I'll have an eye on it and will wait much longer next time before shutting it down manually.

Hi Aoktar,

I also found new issues:
-) when I want to change rendersettings I have to refresh the live-preview with the new settings before I start the final-rendering via pictureviewer or the new settings will NOT be applied.

-) when rendering animations, octane sometimes simply stops after about 200 frames. The next frame is going to start but after the first view samples I only see a noisy picture and the sampling freezes. I have to restart Cinema load the live-preview refresh scene and than I can go on rendering. If I don't load scene into live-preview, the issue happens at the first frame again. (seems like live-preview overrules the final-rendering via picture viewer)

-) another very ugly issue is that after rendering in picture-viewer (if render with lots of samples like 10000 or so) Cinema simply crashes. this meens for example after 2houres at that moment the last sample is processed and the picture is ready, the crash happens. This is not directly reconstructable issue but it happens many times.
It seems that C4D crashes when try to save the picture. Or...
If I remember in earlier versions, after finishing the rendering via picture-viewer the resault appears in live-preview window...maybe it has to do with that.

Everything else is working perfectly !!

Hi all,
i like to know do you have some plugins except octane on c4d? I'm thinking some plugins are causing stange errors. We have detected that Hot4d and TurbulenceFD has serious conflicting with octane.

Hi Aoktar,

good to know, because I was thinking of using TurbulanceFD.
So far I have no problems with CarbonScatter, Depit Effex (Fluid-sim) and many other plugins. Octane renders everything perfect.

But I could reproduce one issue: when I open a scene, but don't open the live-viewer and go directly to picture-viewer to render....only 1 sample is done and than the thing freezes. If it helps I could do some screenrecording.

greetings Chris

i'm checking again for hot4d problem. But i'm not sure about fixing.
For freezing renderings, can you check you enabled all gpus? Also to see some results with different gpu combinations with plus low render priority is enabled. I'm still thinking this is related high gpu usage problem or similar.

Yes it's the same if one or all gpu's are used and also no difference if I activate low priority or not. I tried it with different scenes with same resaults.
This is not a big problem because when u know you usually start live-viewer first and everything goes fine, but maybe this brings you a bit nearer to solve the freeze problem while rendering animations, because it's the same effect.
I have absolute no idea of the backend codes, but I think there has to be some information that swaps between the live-viewer and the picture-viewer and maybe there's a problem.

For better understanding I'm uploading a screenrecording you can download from
http://www.3dvisual.at/Octane-C4D-27_08_2013.zip
Attention...the upload needs about 30min from now and the link will be dead after 24h.

Hope that helps ;)

Hey Ahmed!

I watched Subroutine49690 Video too! Thats exactly the same problem we duscussed yesterday evening, about the "render process".

Everybody who has problems with missing or doubled frames and or hang ups while rendering animation, check if you have installed hot4d. In my case this was the solution for most of my crashes! I removed it from my plugins folder and now everything works really great! :-)

Kind regards Chris!

i found a solution for problem which is said by Subroutine49690. I'll publish fixed version but i'm still working on new algoritms for "Very Fast Geometry Update"
