i just checked and its working here fine, u sure u did everything right?
i mean there is nothing to do, so u couldnt make any mistakes...
is scene big? can u tell/show me some details from scene?

Thanks for the quick response. Its giving the same message in the script window as yours and my objexport plugin wasn't enabled, but even after enabling it, checking it to autostart and restarting Maya, I'm still getting the same message. There's also a error stating that there is a missing image used as an imageplane. Its an old project I'm using to test the plug-in and the imageplane I used no longer exists. I'll have to remove the reference to the file, but I should be able to fix it. Its been a little while, but I'll figure it out. Thanks again for the help.

ill make an update of script so objexport will be activated (loaded) automatically on script run
