Same old waiting enthusiasm for Octane.

We're patient.

No just kidding, impatient really

Rico_uk, I have a project that needs to be rendered before the end of this month. Maybe I'll just send my Maxwell files to RanchRender. It will be expensive for my customer though...

i don't think it is a good idea making a job depending on the first offical _beta_ release of a product - if it is available in time or not. saying that i believe refractive is able to deliver a stable beta, but it's still a beta in the end. if you don't have a problem right away, it may hit you 5 days before deadline, and that will be much, much worse...

Funny how they keep putting foot in mouth with dates. counted this scenario a few times now...
Regardless of how far development with beta has come and what niggles still persist there's still a very large element of expectations that people count on (cause you inform them), wrong to take announcements reliably? Should have notice saying "note to everyone perusing, every news write up on this forum should be taken with a pinch of salt"
We all like to have things working perfectly as if it were a final release first time around but the reality of that. Must get tiring reading these rants of disappointment each time. They were going good for a while when not announcing particular dates. What does and doesn't work in the application to start with always seems outweighed by the positives imo. Though im sure you have some good reason for leaving people scratching their heads.

Could someone from Refractive please just give us a simple ETA and then we can all come back then. It seems a little counterproductive to just leave customers hanging like this.

The whole software industry is based on delays and missed release dates, so you guys shouldn't have hung on to 1st December so much...

Just my two cents of hornets nest stirring

Probobly i'm one of those very few, that do believe..that it's not without a reason..it doesn't matter in the end - their work is going to change the way we work and interact with our models..i'm willing to wait =) and honesly i don't care so much about their silence =) i will be waiting for this release anyway =)
