Any idea on the release date for rhino 6 octane plugin?
It will be a couple of days after the next Octane release (assuming there are no serious issues found with that Octane release).

LOLZ; the obvious question is... when is the next Octane release (after which we might see a Rhino 6 compatible plugin...)?

cheers

Hi Paul,

will it be possible in Rhino6 to keep the octane node texture visible in rhinos render window?

I find when I start using node graphs the textures disappears from my rhino viewport.

Even with bump map, once I have applied that to a texture the texture shown in the rhino viewport turns purple?

This is useful because at times I may choose to do viewcaptures or do diagrammatic renders through rhino.

Image below shows the nodegraph applied to the leafs.

I have updated the TEST releases at the top of this thread as follows:

3.08.0.88 (9-Mar-2018)
- Compiled with Octane 3.08 RC1 (see viewtopic.php?f=33&t=63219 for details)
- Added Toon and Metallic materials
- Toon shading only works in Camera Light toon lighting mode.
- Added Settings tree rightclick menu "Upload to ORC" to upload the currently Viewport scene to the OctaneRender Cloud
- The Replicate proxy function should now be quicker
- Replicated ORBX proxies are now only loaded once into the Octane scene rather than multiple times. This will result in a quicker load time, and less VRAM being used
- Fixed issue where Spective Correction was not working in the Rhino Render panel
- You can use OSL Textures by changing the Material Node Type to a NodeGraph and then adding an OSL Texture
- All Image, Alpha Image and Float Image files are now loaded with HDR Texture Bit Depth set to Automatic
- Added Custom Lut pin to the Imager node. Load .cube file into this node
- Changed the plugin version number to make it clearer which Octane release it uses
- Added support for Rhino6 - however many of the new Rhino6 features such as the integrated render viewport and Change Queue and Embedded Texturemaps are not yet implemented

There are likely to be a few issues with the Rhino6 build do to the large amount of changes needed, so pls use with caution.

I will post Subscription builds with the next stable release of Octane.

I wonder if this is because the nodegraph material is being using on as instance? Would you be able to send me a sample scene which demonstrates this problem pls?

Thanks

There are no toon lights - since there is no way to associate a Rhino light with an Octane toon light. It only works with the Camera Light mode as per the release notes.
