I managed to get the file downloaded. I will need to investigate in detail tomorrow.

Hi Max
I found an issue when saving to EXR in that the Linear option was saving to sRGB, and the Tonemapped option was saving as Linear. I have fixed this in the test release below. Can you please tell me if it resolves your issue?

Thanks

Hi Paul,
Unfortunately it did not, I still get the same cutoff at the end of the SDR range as before. Do you get the same result using my test files? I would not want to rule out a rhino settings issue yet.
In PS I open the EXR and press ctrl+alt+a to open the camera RAW editor. Top right It then shows the curves I put in the last post. I got EXR-iO installed though, that might change PS behavior somewhat. Though I'm sure its got nothing to do with my issue since it works with the Standalone output.
Thanks a lot for looking into this so quickly

Hi Max
I am not a PS user. However I loaded your scene into the Rhino plugin and saved at a resolution off 1000x1000 with 200 samples and exported as Linear 32bit EXR. Then I did the same in Octane Standalone. I compared the curves and results in
https://viewer.openhdr.org/ and they appear to me to be identical. The saved filesizes are different due to the compression settings being different when saving.
Here are the two files....
