Buried somewhere in the Otoy/Octane pages I read that for existing subscriptions (I had 6 months left) subscribers should contact support to not lose their current remaining subscription and have it added to the newly purchase BF deal. Can you give me the email for the support staff who can sort this please.
Shortly after purchasing the BF deal I received 2 emails.
First one was "Thanks for signing up for an OctaneRender® Studio+ (Yearly) subscription!"
Second was "Your OctaneRender® Studio+ (Yearly) Subscription cancellation has been processed. You will no longer be periodically charged for this service."
When I view the page with my subscriptions I can only see the my current subscription which says it expires in 6 months.
Any idea why it's not also showing the new BF deal subscription?

So did you write to the helpdesk to find out, whether everything is as it should be? I got the BF deal as well and got those 2 e-mails. My subscription would otherwise end on 20th March next year. But i believe i saw somewhere in the process of paying for it, the new subscription (one we paid for it now) will only kick once the old one runs out, and until then it would show only the old one. The cancellation e-mail, i thought, meant because i got the BF deal, the subscription wont try to automatically renew on that 20th March and charge me money for another year, which it would do otherwise. Maybe i am wrong though. Guess i might want to write to support myself.
On topic of Greyscale Gorilla, thats a nice bonus, but is it anyway to use it with 3Dsmax? I can see, when i want some specific material off their library, it downloads its textures to harddrive, so i can technically set-up the material myself using them. But i am not particularly knowledgeable in this regard - say i downloaded the suede material, have all its PBR textures... how do i know which material type to even start up with, i mean diffuse, glossy, universal? And then one of those textures is called SheenOpacity and SheenWeight, where do i put those, if Octane does not have "fields" for them in its material settings?

Here's what they said...
By clicking "View Info" next to the license on the Licenses Subscription page, you will see the actual expiration date.
Kind regards,

However, I did also email the helpdesk to check why I only have 2 unlocks left but was told that 2 is now the standard. If you run out you have to contact them to reset them, all the way back to 2
Thank you Beppe, will look into it!bepeg4d wrote:Hi guys,
nice to hear you have solved your license issues.
@Timmaigh: start with the new Standard Surface material coming from Arnold Render, it has a Sheen Weight pin.
About Sheen Opacity, maybe you can use it as a mask for a Composite material between two Standard Surface materials with different Sheen settings![]()
