Sorry about this. The link has been fixed now.

Thanks

Modo17 uses a new version of Qt, and other new libraries, so there is a bit of work to be done to get this working on macOS. I will take another look in a week or two when I am back from the Christmas break.

Thanks

Hello,
Layers drop down menu in the animation tab is grayed out, so I can't seperately save the beauty and denoised beauty outputs together when rendering animation. I'm using modo 16.1 v8 and octane for modo 2023.1.1.195.
Any suggestions?

Hi - select EXR as the Save Format to enable the Layers dropbox.

Thanks

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:

2023.1.2.196
- Compiled with Octane 2023.1.2
- Fixed UV mapping issue with Area Lights (introduced in 2023.1.1.195)
- Fixed issue where Clips->Image Sequence->End Behavior=Repeat was not working
- Fixed issue where Point Light visibility was not mapping correctly with the Modo source point light (introduced in 2023.1.1.195)
- Lights now have "Curvature Visibility" OFF to stop light artifacts rendering
- Added the new AOV Output layer nodes Save Checkpoint, Load Checkpoint, Discard Checkpoint, Sharpen and Light Mixer introduced in Octane 2023.1.2

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul, thanks!
The macOS Modo17 build is only working for Modo on Intel (Rosetta) but not ARM.

I thought Octane was only working under Rosetta and not ARM - perhaps I am wrong? Does Octane Standalone work on ARM?

Yes it does, it's a universal binary.

Hi Paul,

in fact Octane 2023.1 is ARM only, or am I wrong?

So I guess a x64 version of the plug in for Modo 17 is a bit pointless, because the main reason to upgrade to Modo 17 Beta is for ARM users to get rid of Rosetta

Keep up the good work!
Best,
David
