I noticed something while playing with engine settings:
Follow these steps
1. Playing with Photon Tracing kernel and make adjustments
2. Change to a saved preset of Pathtracing
3. Latter I go back to Photo Tracing: surprise, settings are back to default
Don't remember seeing previous versions behaving like this.
So far it feels nice to render with this version.
PS: Are the presets replacing all kernels per state?

I cannot see the behavior as you say. And I don't remember any revisions to cause this. Can you show something for this?

So yep... I suppose this is how Presets behave now. I mean it's not like it's a terrible thing... I just pointed because it looked different from earlier versions.
I remember It used to save only one kernel per preset? Wasn't it like this it behaved before?
Regards,

There is another thing I began noticing lately:
A couple of days ago I updated from 2021.1.6 R4 to 2021.1.6 R5 and now 2022.1 XB1.
On both versions I see the material previews take forever to update, If ever...
I Attach an example .gif from a saved scene on 2021.1.6 R4 - which caused no problem in this regard at all.
PS1.:I am rolling back to 2021.1.6 R4 for now.
PS2.: Newly created materials doesn't present this problem.

It's not forever just doesn't do it. It's a bug present when a material is not assigned to some objects. I notified it recently and fixed for next build.

Please see how Octane has problems with LV updates :
It even has problem with simple updates of turning on/off light or objects. This is all related to active Scatter object. When Scatter is disabled it works fine.
Also most of the time undo view shortcut ( control + shift + z ) doesn't work as expected in LV window. It undoing view but not to the last position but previous ones. It works fine using C4D perspective view.

I'm not seeing any issues here. Are you keeping the Octane settings as default. Especially for others section. Also I only see a parameter change and scatter in the video. Post your scene please then I'll try.
