Hi,
Is there the possibility of modifying the lights, position ands dedicated parameter to Octane?
The lights do not seem to react to transformations

and I do not see a tab specific to Octane in the light parameters?
The rotation does not seem to affect the textures of the Dome light with Octane too.
I saw that we could modify the Kernel parameters in the "material library" node, how should we do it? an example can be?
thanks

As you see, the lighting position doesn't work :

Hello Ben, Thank you so much again. It's confirmed as a bug and will get it fixed in the next release.
Cheers

Hi pxlntwrk,
Thank you for the post.
The LOP light transformation has recently confirmed a bug. We plan to fix it for the next release.
Sure, please try the sample attached. It would need to load an HDRI from OctaneKernel>Environment>RGB Texture node.
Hope it works!!
Cheers

Hi,
It is really frustrating that the state of development of this plugin is not more informed than that.

What can we hope for from a rendering engine whose lights cannot even be modified?
Anyway,
Thanks for the sample, but it doesn't seem to work here.
By just entering the texture slot in the environment, it doesn't change anything at all. always the sun shine
Console 18.5.351:
Code: Select all
material not found: /materials/octane_vopnet1
material not found: /materials/octane_vopnet2
PS/ OctaneCustomLight1.zip works on 18.0597 but not in 18.5.351

Hipxlntwrk,
Thank you so much for testing the scene.
we have confirmed the bug is related to our main Houdini plugin.
The scene would work if we re-create from the scratch using H18.5.351. We will get this bug fixed asap.
Thanks again!!
Cheers

Hi BK,
I recreated the scene from scratch in 18.5.351, but it doesn't seem to work that way either.
Anyway, I hope that in the future we won't have to do this kind of hack any more, to get Octane to work properly in Solaris.
I just think that Hydra is designed precisely to avoid all this kind of mess.
thanks

Hi pxlntwrk,
Thank you for confirming this. It seems the bug is in H18.351. We are now considering to report this bug to Solaris devs.
Anyways, we have just replaced the
HydraSolaris H18.351 builds with the LOP lights transform bug fixed.
Please let us know if the lights working for you!
Note: there is a known issue with the camera scale issue which we would fix in the next release.
cheers

Looks like the 18.5 link in the studio section points to the enterprise file. Could you provide the studio version?
