It has no texture with more than 4096px, HDRi or Vertex Displacement. Its all Octane Proxy ...

What else can it be?

What else is it supposed to do? I can't do my job! I must tell my boss... "I've invested15k euros" to use OCtane and I can't make a small scene for Archiviz ...

Can you try go back to Octane v 4.05 ?

I find that one much more stable and using less RAM for out of core option.

are you trying to render it within 3dsmax or do it in standalone?
you are doing an intereior or exterior scene?
And yes what version are you working on?

If you get same from ORBX in standalone then that is great option to send to DEVs so they can replicate those crashes and possibly FIX it.

Yeah, I'll do that.

That was the last outdoor scene I use Octane, better use Corona or V-Ray, I knew I wouldn't have started another outdoor scene with Octane, it must work well with Quadros and Nvlink... but not GTX.

what pisses me off is I think Octane's the best engine I've ever used... but then the don't work with big scenes, and I started using it because of Out of Core.

If we were told, it wouldn't work with this or that, so I could get around the problem, and use somothing else like 4k maps etc...

if it is exterior view, I would suggest you to use as much as scatter instead of prxoy, proxy will not decrease poly numbers for octane it only makes 3dsmax display faster,
there is different way to use scatter, forest pack may the simplest for the exterior view.

I am curious to see you scene, if there is a way that I can download it, probably I may also take a look into it, see if there is a solution from our user side.

Hi Guy,
I think we have isolated this out-of-core issue doing a reproducible crash in SA.
So I'm sending the files to the developers and hoping to definitively resolve the issue.
