Last news I’ve seen on this was here: https://twitter.com/OTOY/status/1204610175254106114

I’ve seen that repeated on Facebook a couple of times, too. Anyone know what driver they’re referring to?

I’m not sure they know the meaning of “ready now“.

Few months could be 2 like 12... For a professionnal purpose it would be nice to have some kind of an estimated release date instead abstract's things...

I'm guessing the driver in question is the one that will come with the version of the OS that ships with the new Mac Pro. Exactly what and when that will be is up to Apple.

It doesn't matter how ready the Mac "XB" version of Octane happens to be, if there's nothing for the public to run it on. Until there's an official, publicly available build of the OS, along with the necessary compatible drivers, there's no point in releasing anything or making any announcements. Apple does things on its own timetable.

That's what I'd been thinking, but the Mac Pro shipments started arriving yesterday. Presumably, they're running 10.15.2.

Maybe it's the 10.15.3 that we just saw a beta for today.

Oh, well. At least I can still use Eevee on my MacBook Pro while I wait.

And another year ends without Octane for AMD.
