Hi DartFrog,
I think it depends on texture compression which is very slow, could you try testing with this scene?
https://we.tl/t-hTs1zChs31
I opened up a new max 2018, rendered a teapot, opened up your scene, clicked render, no render. Says "rendering" at the top of the window, but "scene evaluation" never goes away.

I get really random crashes while batch rendering some scenes. The release is not so stable. Scenes which crash, render fine on second try. The scenes always load but 3ds max crashes before render starts.
The scenes are similar products. All scenes are the same except sometimes the product has a wall or other attribute. Materials are the same in all scenes.
I have no idea how to analyze the errors. VRAM and RAM are plenty available.

Hi DartFrog,
it seems as you have disable tonemap, but I know I say up nonsense.
What's the Octane error log reading?

Hi, I don't know if it is 6.09 specific, but when using a black body on a diffuse material with transpency map, with transparent emission unchecked , surface emission checked and visible on specular unchecked, I get a white edge around the objects.
I render with alpha, and compose it with a black background in PS.

YES!
The new version didn't auto-choose a tone-mapping graphics card so it was left unchecked, which makes it not render. Thank you!

Hi HHbomb,
It's quite normal what happens in your render; using diffuse material would not happen. A workaround is to put falloff node in roughness slot.

Hi, Paride, but I have "visible on specular unchecked" in black body...
Here is the same render with a diffuse material applied to all objects.

Maybe I missed it, but I searched and couldn't find it - Why is it now black outside of a OctaneRender Viewport region render?

Hi DartFrog,
You need to uncheck the 'Use Region as Film Region' in Global Preferences / Viewport, to get the previous behavior back.
There are now 2 types of region rendering, as in Octane Stand Alone.
A more convenient icon will be added soon in the Viewport.
