mbetke wrote:@HHBomb: What if you set the Normal not "none" and not to 0.0. It looks like an old bug from 3.07 where it displays like this.
Also, you can try: in the Octane Global Settings, main tab, the 'Fix invalid material Normal' checkbox should fix this when loading scenes ..

Hi,
I updated the download link to version 5.02, with those issues fixed:
- Fixed bugs in RGB image UI (projection / transform map buttons)
- Fixed support of edition / UI interaction for OSL projection shader
- Fixed toon light on/off flag
- Added missing support of displacement textures for LiveDB import
That's still a TEST version, but fixes the bug with RGB texture buttons that could corrupt memory in some cases.
Thanks

Hi Do you think real procedural foam and wetmaps as textures are light years away in Phoenix or it will be possible in version octane 3.1 Thanks

why does octane will make walls half transparent sometimes and render objects behind them. This bug appears sometimes. is it network rendering related.

Our plugins and octane render are digitally signed, witch means it's safe to install and use.
This should not affect the installation or usage of our software, but there might be some issues in some cases, that should be easy to fix.For example, windows defender or other anti virus may not recognize our certificate as 'trusted'
You may need to Install a certificate manually.
To check if our certificate is recognized by Windows, or to install it, you can right click on the installer file (eg: OctaneRender_for_3ds_Max_3.08-RC1_-_5.02.exe),
and open the tab 'Digital Signatures'. You should see "OTOY, Inc." as Name of signer.
Click on the Details button, (it should display 'This digital signature is OK.')
The 'View Certificate' allows you to install this certificate manually.
I hope this will fix your problem.

Phoenix 3.1 is also supported. I could create and render some sample scenes.
I noted that they added a new way to process motion blur, I will investigate if it can be used by Octane.
I'll also have a look at foam and wetmaps.
