Hi
i have problem with octane 3.08.0.0 and Houdini 16.5.268
any ideas why ?

Hi,
Have you set the correct paths to the plugin? The houdini.env file must have in the PATH and HOUDINI_PATH variables the path to the plugin once extracted to your HD. Also be aware that you must use the correct plugin build for the Houdini version that you are using.
Also, be aware that you should not uncompress the plugin folders to the $HOME directory (your Documents/houdini16.5 folder). Now you have a lot of files inside that are hard to update and prone to errors. You should remove all the plugin files and folder from $HOME and write them to a custom directory, for example C:\OTOY
For example, if you are working with
Houdini 16.5.268 and you have your plugin uncompressed from the .zip file inside
C:\OTOY\Octane_3.08.0.0_Houdini_16.5.268_Win64 your houdini.env file should be:

HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2
PATH = "C:/OTOY/Octane_3.08.0.0_Houdini_16.5.268_Win64/bin;$PATH"
HOUDINI_PATH = "C:/OTOY/Octane_3.08.0.0_Houdini_16.5.268_Win64;&"

Thanks i have fix the problem , i done something wrong with the paths
But now i have a different problem i have Subscription License for Houdini plug in but i have Sign in problems.
( are they compatible in test build ? ) or i have to wait until the release date of 3.08 ?

Hi,
Usually the subscription VR builds are only available when the final Octane versions are released, not fore the test builds, but in this case, the 3.08 build is the only one that works fine with the new Houdini 16.5 version, so I'll send you by pm the links to download it.

Plase, check that you don't have another plugin builds in your Documents/houdini16.5 directory. To be sure, remove all the files and folders inside this directory, leaving only the houdini.env file that you have with your plugin configuration.

Hmm, only with the IPR? What happens if you try to render to disk from the ROP node?
Also could be useful to know if Octane can work fine on your system. Do you know if the Standalone or another Octane plugin works fine?
