OOOH!! Sorry, sun size is 3x or less - bad but ~10x or less for PMC.

Value of Caustic Blur is too many - try decrease to default value or disable it.

No caustics on your image. - But... seems be not real...

Look... my work about ice stone and I tested to render... but HAVE caustics!! Sorry, I haven't snow material. ;)
Sun size 9x is +/- equal to you. ;)
ice stone test.png
PMC settings:
- 3k-sample/px at 9 minutes
- 27-maxdepth
- 5k-reject
- paralellism 1
- without "caustic blur"

Do you like my image? :)

NOTICE!!
Tried 100-depth but more depthes is to increase light of snow despite more realism -> issue... eheh! lool Therefore, we should disable emission for snow. ;)

No, PT is less efficient than PMC for caustics.

Screenshot
ice stone_PT.png
Looks noises colored in caustics. 4500 kS/pixel at 9 minutes.

PMC is still better! :)

Martin used PT settings: maxdepth diff 6 and spec 8; caustic blur 0.2; GI clamp 10. These settings are incorrects.
I won but caustics only. :)

Hahahahah. How did this turn into a caustic olympics? I personally don't care about caustics in this case.

So Nuno is the winner of Caustics Paralympics 2015. Congrats! The price is an octane demo version.
