We've tested/built denoisers - best results on fast GPU adds several minutes per frame. Still worth it in some cases (not all). We will support as many options as we can, but probably need a few 100 samples or else you interpolate too much.

I'm not expecting to render 50 samples and then denoise the rest to get a perfectly clean render.
What about rendering to 1000 samples and then denoise?
Usually we render interiors at 5k to ~ 5000 samples but still have some noise left.

In that case it would prove much more useful.

Agree with Robsteady, its the 1000 to 5000 sample interior + night images and animations that are the biggest problem for us. Its Octanes achillies heel and a built in denoiser would increase the market appeal to Octane immensely.

Totally agree. Faster cleaner interiors would make a huge difference! This denoiser would be a real timesaver!

Thanks for the feedback. We are looking into various ways (since 1.5) to solve this, and we will. In the meantime deboisers in this range are useful and we will support them properly with V3 info channels.

Im doing an archviz render at the moment of an underground train station. Getting clean results through multiple layers of glass takes forever to resolve. And judging by this guys results it may never resolve.

Glass and lights, this is where the fun starts
I did some tests here but I guess there's no solution:

Another similar method for noise reduction. It would be good if octane could make a method where there was just a simple checkbox.
