I do not think texture emission is better than blackbody.
Basically they are the same and in some cases texture emissions can be more comfortable than blackbody, It's not always necessary splitting hairs..
I said alternatively to use OctaneIESLight because, like IES on the fly, with working orientation would be useful.
If developers will use a suitable geometry, OctaneIESLight would be great and no noise.
That said, there was a misunderstanding, I was referring to by changing the XYZ coordinates.
Using normal space, you have the inverted Z, ready to rotate .IES light (normally pointing down).
