Just to clarify another point, this workflow that has been described sounds like it is spitting out a stereo panorama, but the render the metaverse competition says about exporting an ORBX file which I imagine gets rendered at runtime. What is the right method for export? I imagine if you render out a static stereo cube panorama then it won't work as you look around. Or is the idea that you set up the scene as a stereo panorama, and then export as ORBX?
Yes but how do you do this ? You can view the stereo cube maps using the ORBX player and the GearVR and THEY ARE AWESOME.

Seems today's new Max release works perfectly with the stereo function of cube map! Yay! Love you Otoy.

Yes! Just trying it now too. I like the lock camera button too.
Much better camera control for me in max than in octane standalone.

Is their a setting in max to keep LiveDB open? Every time I choose a
material it closes when it loads into material editor slot. I think in previous
versions it stayed open. Or maybe I am thinking of standalone. Any workaround in max?

I am using Maya, even with Side Stereo mode selected, I am still getting only 6 Tiles and not 12, with Cube Map
