Thanks a lot for the tip Kubicki

I'm also quite confused about the memory info displayed. I checked this tutorial yesterday:
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=37304
She's got a 4 card rig and according to the video, she unchecks the first GPU and checks the other 3, to leave the first card for a fluent display and the other 3 do the hard computational work. In my case it's not working that way, I might have my cards crossed but it would be great to have a way to know which checkmark is which card.
If anyone else has got any light to shed on here I'd really appreciate it
regards,
Alvaro

One method would be trial and error - check just one box at a time and look into Afterburner to see which card's being stressed. Alternatively, open the case and see which GPU gets hot. Then repeat with next checkboxes...
On the printscreen below you can see that in my case, with box 1 checked, GPU2 usage reaches 96%. Open Afterburner to see exactly which card "GPU2" stands for and that's it, checkbox 1 identified
Cheers,
Szymon
EDIT: Afterburner displays the actual order of GPUs - GPU1 is the highest/closest to the processor, GPU2 is just below, etc.

Thanks a lot Kubicki3d. I was able to use afterburner to determine which card was which.
I thought the utility was for MSI cards-only but it works with any Nvidia card from any manufacturer.
I have the same situation, my GPU2, the one after the one next to the processor, works with the first checkmark on. So somehow something's switched, but I don't mind. I'm happy knowing there's a way to know which card is being used, I just hope this can be translated into Blender for Octane Render somehow
One last question, how do you get the info to display on the upper right corner of the screen?
Thanks for all the help.
Ps. I just went through your portfolio. It's amazing! I'd love to chat with you some more and be able to learn from your experience.
regards,
Alvaro

In Afterburner, go into Properties and follow the print screens:
Not sure if I'm doing this 100% right, but it (more or less) does the job

Many thanks for a good word! If you have questions, you can of course write to
[email protected], although I guess this forum is an even better place for asking & sharing experiences, mainly thanks to the presence of some really experienced and renowned blenderheads

EDIT: One last thing, maybe not so important:

whoahhhh!
Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation and for taking the time of generating the screenshots (and editing them). I'll try setting it up with them, although I kinda prefer starting things up manually rather than having them autostart with windows

I hope we can talk some more later, be it here or dropping you a line at your email. You're most kind and patient.
regards,
Alvaro
