i tried loading a few scenes and the props were all in the wrong place. using the reload feature or the final render button crashed the program.

emitters are still really sketchy too. Since I can't use 1.0 right now I'm going to keep experimenting but I'm guessing you know all this stuff. (you make an emitter, it doesn't how up in the emitters area, they seem to duplicate themselves etc. You save, close and relaunch daz and the program crashes on loading the scene. When it does successfully load you have duplicated emitters.)

hmm selecting surfaces and dragging them to materials is still unreliable. You will select one surface of an object and drag and it will appear that you only have that surface, but when you get close to the material you want to use all of the surfaces for that object will be selected, so you have to start over and retry. And now it seems it is actually impossible to drag surfaces from two different objects and assign them to a material :(

its not just emitters that duplicate randomly, other materials have the same problem.

i dunno how to focus the camera anymore. I see there are lots of options in the camera parameters but in the past I would just make sure the camera was active and then left click the octane viewpoint to focus on a target. I guess this doesn't work anymore? The camera focus options in the plugin viewport are greyed/yellowed out so i can't change the settings there. Even when i change the parameters in the options to manual focus the left clicking doesnt work.

closing daz studio after using the plugin still results in a ds crash report much of the time.

lars: I focus by clicking the target button (+) < looks like that, but full circle - then clicking a position. I would prefer the Alt-click - but that doesn't work.

t_3: I've also noticed many more things that don't cause rerendering - environment settings / render settings - I have to consistently press 'reload' (or whatever it's called next to LIVE).

Thanks for reminding me, that button and the two to the right of it are greyed out for me.

I've tried setting the camera to every one of the available focus modes and it never becomes an option. I can't change the focus option the viewport, i must do it via the daz parameters.

the first time final render mode didn't crash for me it didn't load the followers (hair, clothing) so I had a bald nude character.

I assume you created a Camera (b/c that's the only way) - the Perspective/etc doesn't have it.

Of course I created a camera :)

Dang...that spot render tool that is really to die for.

Ok, took the plunge and installed the latest beta into my DS 4.7.0.12, 64-bit.
So far all I have tried is a single figure in a relatively simple scene (An Abandoned Loft) to test out RedspecSSS's G2F shaders.
The G2F geometry did not show up at first, though her hair did ...! A click on Reload dragged the uppity wench into view :)
Next the application of the shaders, via drag and drop, messed up. Some investigation showed that it was the presence of a geo-graft item that caused this; remove the geo-graft and the drag/drop worked as expected.
After that the figure seemed to lose it's textures, but it was late and I did not have time to pursue the testing. Whilst doing this I, too, found problems trying to set the focal point.

anyone else have the issue where a material will get corrupt and just go yellow? I saved a new version when this happened and when I reloaded it is still yellow. Even if I unlink the material.

Also seems like when you load a saved scene sometimes the materials get renamed to (2) for no reason. When this happens it seems to add the original instance of the material to the unused section with the original name.

I've had *all* of my previously (~1-3 months ago or more) modified materials come back unlinked/white. I have to re-autoload them and then recreate the materials. I don't know of a shortcut.

Hi t_3,

Using 4th release V2.1 R2.12.

1. I am using the RedSpec SSS for the G2F and it has many nodes. I am getting hangs whenever I click on one of its node in the NGE. This is consistently happening for me. Need to kill DAZ Studio once that happens.
2. Copy / paste seems to be temperamental.
3. In the color dialog, if by mistake a text is typed or pasted, clicking on the color does not update the HEX RGB readout. Have attached a screenshot.
Color Selection Dialog.png
Getting better though. Currently just trying a scene with Miho and hair. Going to load a more complex scene and see how it goes.

Cheers,
Rajib
