Do you have documentation on how to use the multi-layered EXR output? I'm not figuring it out yet.

Thanks!
Billy
Use the multilayer EXR files is really easy, you only need to link the render passes node in the render target node editor, set a file name, and select the layers that do you want to be included in the EXR file. You are going to get an .exr file for each frame.

This file can be loaded in a post-production software to tweak your rendering with all the information in the layers. For example I am using Fusion here to test the plugin, and all works fine with it.

Add your vote to have proper material/obj implementation.

Right now its not so useful

Frame initialisation seems to be really faster with this version when computing animations.
The bug i was talking to you some weeks before ( random crash when rendering animation with Image display enabled, apparently affecting only my config: 1 Firepro as maindisplay and 2 780ti for cuda ) has gone: cool !
And the new color tool is indeed very nice too...
Nice release, many thanks !

just 2 minor things:
-1- a funy one: if you launch a rendering with 1 or 2 sample, itdoesn't start: with 3 it renders... it should appear silly but there are some interesting things to do with very low samples number...
-2- when enabling/disabling GPU 0/1, it restarts to 0 in some case, depending the order of the combinaison ( i can't remember if it was the case on previous version

Thanks for the information. Next week I am going to build a complex scene here with heavy instances to try to reproduce your problem with the time limit rendering. There are same changes in the plugin rendering control code, and as you can see, there is a problem with the "render by time" feature. Thanks for report it.

You're welcome. I hope they're paying you well because you deserve it! I look forward to render by time fix because I prefer it, but I am getting used to setting sampling limit. It's not so bad.

Rendering by time is a nice feature, I will try to fix it, but anyway the new render passes feature is not compatible with time render. To render the passes you need to render always by max. samples.

Juanjo, thank you very much :)

Just could you please change the Displacement Shift control type as well? Now it still shows the decimal value and it is as important in displacement thickness as the Amount :)
The Amount now works great

And it seems that 99% problem is gone too, at least the same scene that stopped at 99% before now rendered complete

Thanks! Color correction node will be very useful.

I´m testing the render passes node. I have set the node and save file, selected the passes and it seems to render properly. It saves a 46mb exr-file. But when I open it in Photoshop CS5 it only gives me one layer that is completely black. I wounder what is the problem?

I think that Photoshop has problems with this kind of files. I am testing the multilayer EXR files here with Fusion and all works fine. Is there anyone that can load the EXR files in PS without problems?

gordonrobb wrote:OK, great. Just trying out the new correction node. I have a prelin noise image and pump it through the node. I'm assuming if I want to make the contrast stronger, I'd use the contrast input, but it seems to make no difference. How does one use it?
This is custom build of the beta 2 plugin for Windows x64 with this bug fixed. You only need to replace the plugin .p file:

It´s a shame if Photoshop can´t open EXR-files properly because I think it is the most used program.

Another weird problem :
I installed the new Beta today. I was testing the new render passes with an old scene. I started rendering normally with F9 as before. Everything looks ok in render preview window. But when the image is finished, the final image is warped. See attached. What the heck?
