I don't think it is a bug, but simply setting to texture will disable this node which in turn renders faster. Also have you tried exporting a setup in 3dsmax to orbx format and open in standalone and compare speed result. This should be a great to compare and you should have the same render speed.

please Karba update the Vray 3.0 converter
I receive a lot of Vray scenes from my clients
I need conversion for:
Vray ies lights
Vray cameras
Vray sun
Max Color correction
Vray double sided material
and if is possible: Vray proxy
thank you for your miracles.

Is the Index value getting converted correct?
In V-Ray IOR default is 1.6 but in Octane it's 1.3, right?
At the moment it's 1.6 = 1.6 but it should be 1.6 = 1.3
Also this please
viewtopic.php?f=81&t=42486
And of course color correction with hue & saturation.

Hi team, I'm leaving you screen prints of comparisons that have between standalone version 2.06 and 2.06 for 3dsMax, . and finally the standalone 2.1 representing a speed improvement of 25% in speed.
I'm not getting 3 times the speed
RobSteady mentioned otherwise explained by the OTOY, or am I doing something wrong?

- Comparacion 2.06 Max y Standalone VS 2.10 Standalone
sorry for the bad English

The new features are switched on in 2.1? I guess so but just to make sure...

Your speed increase seems about right.
Here's what the developers wrote:
win wrote:

I'd say that RobSteady results are a bit fishy?

As you can see on the screenshots it's about
twice (not three times) as fast for this scene.
These are the numbers that are displayed on my monitor.
Maybe there's something wrong with the scene? Never used the standalone version before...
But feel free to check the files
Maybe we can get another scene or post some demo scene benchmarks...

Benchmark Standalone 1.20 to 2.10
Don't know why I got this crazy result with my testscene...
