I got bound by time for the splash screen. I knew the shaders weren't up to par with what I wanted. I'm not sure if the team would change it now though.
We can change the splash screen for the next versions. I have to agree that your image has progressed a lot. The last render is just awesome. Just send me a PM, when you think you are ready for a splash change. Thank you :)

The last shot is fantastic, absolutely stunning work, both from artistic and technical point of view. Wonderful! 8-)

There is another participant to this whole scene.

Here is a very early progress shot. There is quite a fair bit more to do but I am happy with his expression, which is what I wanted to nail precisely before anything else.

And no, he won't be naked in the end. Come on!

ElBloko, just wanted to let you know that when I check these forums, I always look for your name under the 'view new posts' section to see if you've posted an update to your work. It's amazing and truly inspirational.

Hugues Giboire... Now it connected. Make sure that Xi'An is as realistic :)

The nails of the old man don't match his age. To sell the shot off as realistic, they should be hard, frayed and yellow-tinted with lines and marks to indicate the age. Remember nails are also composed of keratin (what makes up our hair) and rot and become brittle over the years. As for colour, think how teeth lose density, stain and turn yellow over time also.

Great attention to detail otherwise.
