Ahh, that makes perfect sense. And I think I know what hair plugin in you are referring to, I think it was called FurGen and if I'm not mistaken I don't think it's being developed anymore. I guess we could always use a work around for rendering hair by creating a small source file of custom hair, and then using Octane's Proxy system. Any chance of creating an embedded CSV generator into the plugin down the road? Then we could select a surface and array the proxies along/around the surface's in Rhino. Would be great for grass and fur. I have no idea if this is possible. However, I've been using proxies more and more lately and LOVE having this ability in Octane/Rhino! Thank you for implementing that!

Hi Paul,
Followed by the picture here:

I think it will be great to have such render passes.
Q: These passes has to be created one by one? or they all can be generated in single shot?

Some of those passes are available now, and it looks like the others will be included in Octane 2.x. I am guessing, but I would say that the passes might be Infochannel Kernel types - so you would render them out separately - or maybe there will be an option to render them in one go and save as separate files. If not - this sort of functionality could potentially be added to the plugin. But I am guessing.

Thank you Paul. This answers my question.

Will the later version (2.1) support system memory use? Will this be out later in 2014?

My understanding is that that's planned for 2.x, available after 2.0 (from memory later this year was mentioned, but don't quote me...)
