A little enhancing of the opacity channel can make quite a difference. ;)

Nice all bit of information, do you have a node set up that I could see to see how you produce this?

Could you share the settings you moved to get that look ?

thanks!

I'm not at my Poser machine ATM, but the trick is simple: increasing the transparency of the hair as whole which gives it a finer, lighter look.
- put a multiplier into the opacity channel
- use the hair's transparency map as input 1
- for input 2 select RGBvalue
Now you can adjust the overall transparency with the RBG value from black = completely transparent to white = only transmap is effective.
It depends on the hair and your judgment how much transparency you add. On hair with multiple materials, the inner regions should be more opaque than the outer strands, on hair with one or two material zones you have to try what looks best.
In any case the opacity of the scull cap should be driven by the hair's transmap only.

I try to reproduce what you said but unfortunately, maybe i am misunderstanding something you're writing.

I wonder if it's possible up to upload a screenshot orr poc ,poe file, so we can have a go at reproducing ourselves obviously at your convenience when you can do this it would be greatly appreciated

Anyway, as people know I've been playing around with fibre mesh hair and get is very good results.

Here is a render at low resolution

Outstanding! How did you render this hair? Is it Poser dynamic hair or DS hair?

The hair was actually rendered in octane,

inherently called fibre mesh hair . It's something that Z brush does very easily.

At the moment there's only three ways that I can see. To do this . Basically reimporting an object back into poser

The currently are two packages to do this, but the only run on Daz studio

Look at my Hair is a wonderful tool which will allow each Studio4.5 user to create hair and fur for all the figures and objects he/she desires.

and

And Z brush

Creating Long Hair Using FiberMesh in ZBrush

I really don't know why no one has created anything like this for poser because the majority of the work is done in Z brush and a thought it would be too hard to crate something like this. If you know a bit of programming.

. If you want realistic hair for your renders. I've done absolutely no real work to the hair

Is it looks quite realistic to me could do with a little bit of a shine

I am blown away with how good that render is!

For that render, do you grow the hair in ZB and then render in OctaneRender for Poser? If so, could you share the ZB fibre hair settings pls?

http://pixologic.com/zbrush/features/FiberMesh/

Basically, the easiest way to do this is to watch the video below, you will give you a better idea of how to do this.

Then export the object back into poser and position on your head. Basically, is as easy as that

But the novice users. This would probably give some problems. Zbrush is not the easiest thing in the world to use.

The other option is to use the Daz studio packages created a hair there , then export as an object and reimport into

Poser.

As I said, I'm very disappointed that no one at Smith Micro's or anywhere else is really bothered with this technology.

I certainly would buy a poser related product as I think quite a few other people would just for hair

And if we can certainly crate this on Daz studio, then it can undoubtedly be done poser

Here's an example of my settings. Works quite well esp with light colored hair.
But, as mentioned, every hairpiece and material zone has to be individually adjusted and fine tuned.
