Hi!
Here's a quick update, I had to fight hard with Blender's fluid simulator - I'd never used it before...

I still have to work some more on the walls' texture...
(by the way the UV-Mapping is not done yet in the second picture, on the cube that "holds" the pipe)

Please keep commenting, your help is more than welcome!!!
See ya!
;)

Beautiful renders man very realistic!

I love the second one. Nice mood.

Did you render with 2.2b or with 2.3_4?

Hi Mateuet !
Thanks a lot, I'm very (happily!) surprised at your comment, since I don't feel like it's very realistic... :(
Or maybe I've been working on this pic for too long and I can't see it "as it really is" anymore...?

I'm really struggling with making the walls' texture more "grainy" and less perfect, as the sun directly hits them, thus anihilating the bump effect.... :(

Well, many thanks again - by the way : rendered with 2.2b
;)

Really nice work mate :D

To make it even better i would recommend removing that "modern" water pipe as its distracting element in overall really good ambient.
Try to make something different. Maybe you can reuse amphores to make more stylish waterpipe. like puting 2 with openings lying on pool edge in V-position and putting 3rd one lying diagonaly between those two pouring water from it. Just keep style simple like in whole ambient ... don't overdoit with trying to make something too much fancy.

But overall really nice work mate so keep it up and show us some more in the future :D

Cheers

Many thanks AbraX !
:D

I'll try something different indeed, as the "cube" is way too simple a geometry compared with the rest - that's a good thing you pointed out !
;)

I'll try what you said about the amphoras, or something like an old iron-forged water pump or something...

Many thanks again!
:D

I like this scene a lot, but I agree that this simple cube and pipe for the fountain are not suitable.

Hehe, the fluid sim isn't always necessary. What I normally do in those situations is model a tube and add a couple of cloud displacement maps. You can assign it to an empty and scale it to get the right sort of look.
Loving the house ;)

A few fireflies in the second render that could be removed, other than that real nice work!

Many thanks!
I have to admit I'm getting quite depressed with this picture, I think I worked for too long on it !!!
:D

I know I have to work on the fountain (delete this rubbish cube and put something nice instead), but I just can't get myself to do it!!!
Well, one day...
