I am getting this and I don't know the specific thing to replicate.
It started after chosing a different imager-response but I am not sure if it is the cause.
btw: working with 1.13a3
Clicking the checkboxes for activate GPU in Devices is not or very slowly responding when ticking them.

greetings, Jeroen

whilechanging form daylight to texture environment clicking "select ímage"
I'll restart the PC and will see if the previous errors will ocuur again.

Hi Paul,

only a short report about 1.13a3, I'm a bit in hurry;
Would you like fake_shadows ENABLED by default when converting specular materials?
I would say yes ! (with possibiblity to uncheck in the Configuration, like smoothing)

@ rappet: I'dont know the technical background of this yet, but if I want sunlight shine into a room the glass-material needs it ;)

The trees/cars have still missing material nodes (red arrows), the blue ones should point at nearly similar textures - the right one is
probably not shown because of the lenght of the name again - although in the node all is displayed and seems OK !

This kind of massages still appear...

I confirm the same error when changing the material node as 'rappet' reported.

Aprart from that all OK so far and running stable here. No need of reseting of Cuda reported up to now.

Greetings,
Artur

Personally I did not experiment with fake_shadows to give a founded answer.
If you like you may explain a little about it?
Having it ON means the sun will correctly cast no (and non-shadows) behind glass. I did some more experimenting, and couldn't find any reason that it shouldn't be used. I will add it to the next release.

I get this message when trying to change the material node.
Am I doing something wrong or is something going wrong?
From the errors you are both getting, it looks liek something is amiss in the node system. I will fix this ASAP.

[EDIT: Have found the issue - it is related to increasing the number of material from 1000 to 10000].

This is looking like an Octane 1.13 issue. Working on it, but proving tricky :-\
Clicking the checkboxes for activate GPU in Devices is not or very slowly responding when ticking them.
Fixed in the next version.

New version available from the links in the first msg of this thread.

1.13a4
- Fixed error resulted from changing node type
- Fixed issue where cuda devices could not be deactivated (checkbox not working)
- Fixed issue where panoramic camera could not be selected

Changing "daylight" to "environment texture" will still crash ArchiCAD IF the Viewport has been opned. Otoy are working on a fix at the moment. So for this release, to change from "daylight" to "environment texture", start the plugin and change to "environment texture" then load an IBL image BEFORE opening the Viewport.

This version does not rectify Artur's "Material name length" issue or GDL naming issue. Artur, could be pls send small sample files demonstrating these issues and I will fix ASAP.

Got a "cuda error 999 on device 0"
I think this was due to the fact ttah I was rendering with all 4 GPU and doing some browsing at the same time?
note: my Archicad-OR window has freezed and probably I have to shut it down the hard way.

Hi Jeroen

Error 999 is definitely hardware related, and I resolved all my error 999 issues by underclocking my card! Could be heat related too.

I have the fixed the crash when changing from "daylight" to "texture environment" done. Thanks to Otoy for the quick turn-around addressing this problem. I am fixing the ability to edit GDL material prior to uploading. It is likely to take a few hours.
