I think some shots are quite dark and noisy but if you got away with it and client is happy then dont care. ;)
I would not suggest to start with a unknown renderer in combination with a tight deadline.

From a technical note maybe the very little ceiling lights could have been donw with a texture (white points) because they dont contribute to the scene. Most other suefull hints have already been mentioned here. I also try to keep my materials as simple as possible most times depending on the distance to the camera.

Good job!

something like this, I would have considered rendering just a unlit scene from Octane, or rather lit with an off white colour environment

then adding a blue photo filter in photoshop, set to Multiply, if it's meant to be nightime

and then would have rendered the feature lights in Mental Ray or VRay, and then comped them over in photoshop, screen or linear dodge

If you didn't want the hassle of two sets of materials in two programs, then with the VRay lit model, I'd simply just camera map the render from Octane over the whole model!

Dirty I know..!

There is no way you can learn something under stress, should've stuck with something you are comfortable with under deadline, but anyway, results could've been worse.

@sdwhitton - very interesting approach... I was actually fantasizing about that while struggling...

I'm actually very glad I jumped on Octane under stress, the sole fact I was able to obtain something barely passable in just 1 day on an unknown system, shows me the power of this very system.

I'll share with you the next projects, which I am approaching with the right timing... and AFTER having read the manual :D
