Well, as a complement, would it be possible to have the hability of loading an image in background ?
The image would be be of same resolution as render, and renderable or not.
The ability of rendering this image is not much important, but would be useful is possible.
This image would allow the perfect placing/rotating of object with shadow by using the background as a guide, instead of working by trials and error and testing the object and shadows in photoshop or else.
This ability is present for example in Particle Illusion.
Possible in Octane ?

Question: how will saving of separate passes be handled? Preferably we would need a way (a nodal setup most likely) to save all this passes in one go. The current way of re-running (reload, revoxelize) your animation for each pass, will start to get more cumbersome and time consuming with each new pass added to Octane.
Will something like this be possible in Octane:
save.jpg
This is would be tremendously wonderful to have.. I wouldnt mind setting up different rendertargets, with different samples that goes rendertarget 1-Save pass 1, rendertarget 2-Save pass 2, rendertarget 3-Save pass 3.. Now its really frustrating having as matej says, the need to load and voxelise the mesh just to get the depth pass for example..

I... have waited for this feature... since the very beginning... Happy!
One question though: can this material, or is it possible to make this material also catch illumination? Like if I had an emitting object I wanted to have appearing to shine light on my background environment.

Wow, this is extremely useful when I need to render an architectural model 'inside' a photograph!
Great work!

Is the transparency automatically added to the shadow? if so, then its really impressive!
