Is the 2013max version faster now? I consider using max2013 now.

just testing it - the max viewport navigation with octane window open running on all cores - it is even slower than before on 2013.. cannot move in 3dmax while rendering on the same gpu, the updating speed is .. OK but..runs pretty buggy, there is something strange going on with the lights, like it lights up only half of a plane sometimes - also changing to movable proxy hides some objects.. ?
just a straight up scene from scratch a few boxes and spline extrudes .. 2013v is going to have to wait it out

Karba - can you add some other buttons to the max CUI, like the lights and sun, and make into a nice toolbar with icons (you could give us a small button design contest maybe if you cannot be bothered) I prefer toolbars since I have enough desktop space, dont know about other users.. Menu is always too high up, the rightclick has limited space but put some of the buttons in there..
I know its additional work to pretty up octane gui, looks pretty nice right now, just have to give it like a nice panel or toolbar with most or all settings, and add some magical 1 click setups, so new users can dive into it with a single click somewhere, also for experienced users, it is just time consuming when wanting to do a quick render or test, a nice quick setup can always come in handy..
something like SIGERTOOLS V-Ray Studio Setup Pro, that looks nice, studio presets along with light setups? That would certainly add more value to octane..
can you spare someone from the otoy team to design a good GUI to complement the octane plugin, it should be as important as the software engine itself, I realised this after trying a bunch of apps for ipad - take a look at treesketch for Ipad - it's the most intuitive 3d app, and has no learning curve you just start doing stuff on a first drawing action on the screen - a monkey can do, but monkey cannot buy ipad

not so random bug.. I got it again, the light emitter plane seemed like it was emitting only half from of the plane, same bug on 2013 and 2012.. with clean scenes.. and then crashed didnt manage to screenchot it

извиняюсь за русс , не донесу понятно по анг. есть баг .. делаю анимацию, так вот вроде рендерит 3-4 кадра, а дальше на 5 том.. доходя почти до конца.. тупо стоит на месте.. часами .. думаешь вот вот и сохранит кадр.. но ничего не происходит, при этом 3д мах в адеквате , пауза у октана работает, нажимая стоп и пуск .. все так же полоска рендера на месте. решение проблемы тупое.. надо или перезапуститть макс, или выключить и опять включить видеокарту в списке, это происходит хоть с одной хоть с двумя.. ступорит

not sure if I am the only one who is getting this bug...the blackbody emitter sometimes emits light and sometimes does not...

That is known issue. Will be fixed in ~2weeks.
