Hi rock1ng,
I have tested your set up, but how can you export each layer with its objects in Octane with Rhino?Do you do this operation one at a time with the layers or all together?Because I have seen your screenshot...
I have done one test with 3 layers and some solids on a plane:if I export the layers one at a time in Octane at the end I haven't the solids all together...like in the picture 1. If I export from Rhino to Octane the solids all together I have like in the picture 2...but without no layers!
How do you do with this problem?
Thanks again

I don´t know very well how octane works with layers,I simply export the entire scene with all the layers ,but it seems that no matter, and my scene shows like you a hundred chanels for nodes with repetitive materials ,and I don´t know why? I separate one object or group of objects and put it into independent layer ,but when I export to octane it shows me a lot of triangles for nodes...
I wish radiance can help me with this problem ..
If your answer is if we can put diferents objects in the same scene and you will show all in the same visalization, you may wait for beta 3 ,it is a parameter of future beta..
I render this kitchen in one minute with the demo 2.2 yesterday..I can wait for tomorrow to buy the license and try bigger renders

Hi,
I'm no rhino user so i can't help with it.
maybe ask on the rhino forums how to propperly configure your export so it exports unique materials for each rhino material...

Hi rock1ng,
thanks for your help with Rhino. Yesterday I have tested the demo of Moi3d with a .3dm file saved in Rhino. Well, then I have exported this in .obj for Octane render and finally I have seen my objects on different layers.
But here now there is another problem...when I make a texture for one layer, for example "diffuse" and I render the scene, all the texture are with a wrong scale, some are more little, some are more big...
I think in Octane you can't for the moment adjust the scale of the texture in the scene you have imported from your 3d application. I'm a Maxwell render user and there you can select the objects and to do this.
Well...I imagine you should do this in Rhino, but I don't see a lot of parameter (ex. rotation).
Rock1ng, which is the best way in Rhino? Is there a plug-in or an external program?
Many thanks to all in advance
Have a great day

you can adjust the scale of an UV mapped texture with a float or float2 node on the texture's scale input.
no rotation yet though.
