very strange. You have checked that you havent grouped your objects either?
Yep, they are exploded. would you send me a .zip with a scene and textures? dummy stuff?
[email protected]. 3ds max 2009 sp1 64bits here!
Yeah sure, no problem. I use 3ds max Design 2010 sp1 64-bit
Max scene and textures or OBJ file and textures? or both perhaps?

Ok i see your problem now
My objects are imported without texture too, black material instead so i have to pick the path to the texture inside octane.
Is it obj mlt format which is limitted or octane ? I mean couldn t we have more information stored in the mlt file octan could read ?
Like something that could convert not only standard max material but also MR, maxwell, fry materials ?
Perhaps someone could build a kind of script or plugin for max that would add extra informations to the *.mlt file coming with the obj ?

I made this scene for pedrofelipe, but here it is for everyone to check out.
When you load the OBJ file into Octane the texture files are also loaded.

Hi,
octane currently loads diffuse, specular, roughness, index or refraction and bump (although not yet used) textures from the OBJ+MTL.
it assumes the textures are in the same directory as the OBJ, however it will load it elsewhere if a full path is given.
examine the MTL file (with a text editor like notepad) to see how/what was exported until you find the good settings to export with in 3ds max.
when octane does'nt find a texture it's silent, eg it ignores the entry and does'nt load the texture.

PS: we're working on some tutorials/documentation for this.

Radiance,
I tried in max 2010 64bit and it just worked perfect... with UV's and everything. I think the problem was 2009... the 3ds max beta user of yours... does he use 2009? or 2010?
