				Money makes the world.
This means no chance for smart, light, usable, flexibel and easy to use software.
Or in other words: The more money the more dependence and the less justice.
Things are not gonna be better, they only gonna be more unnecessary complex and more expensive...
...and if Cycles will ever be better than Octane they buy it as well.
Kind regards
Alain

I think Radiance was talking about "some developements" a few months back. I don't know wich post it was but I had a feeling that these developments are not technical ones... ..now I now for sure.

I just sent an email to otoy's contact, telling them how octane's community was worried about the future and begging for little answer about future plans. I'll post any news I get here if any ..

In my opinion, you are beginning to make psychological terrorism.
It should also be the Team of the RS to tell us what the future of society and also our, from users.
Neither do I like these rumors (especially on AD), but I hope that the Team has to honesty fair to explain in due time, what will happen. Until then it is useless to alarm.

What does this mean for licensed users? From my experiences Refractive is a shady company. I hope Octane goes in a new direction now. Good riddance. What about a class action lawsuit? We did not get what we paid for. I will never buy a Refractive product again.

A quick check on the NZ companies register shows.... bugger all.
http://www.business.govt.nz/companies/a ... 20software
Looks like Reftactive is still in the hands of 3 shareholders, but I guess that would not show if they had just sold/licensed the Octane tech.
What happens to my lifetime license

God we have got some ready malcontents here.

While it obviously important to have an official statement for customers lets get a grip on reality here.
No one has said Octane is going out of business so where does talking about class actions for not getting what you paid for come from?
Actually if you look at the list of things to deliver for v1 they are almost finished. Only instances and a few minor ones like orthographic camera I think, are outstanding and 2.6 due soon is supposed to have instances.
