My computer has an Apple M1 Max chip and is running Tahoe 26. Do I need to use C4D 2026 in order to use the Octane plugin? It seems that C4D 2023 on my computer cannot recognize the plugin files.
Probably you need to update your Maxon C4D 2023 to a more recent build like 2023.2.2.
The minimum supported C4D builds are:
R25.117, R26.107, 2023.2, 2024.4, 2025.0.1, 2026.0.0.
Then you can install an OctaneRender for C4D plugin from 2025.1 to 2026.2 in macOS Tahoe.

Render Nodes for MACOS

Dear Beppe
it would be very nice to have the macos render nodes back! As you know M5 Ultra is not far away and it would be great to combine this with other M3,M4 resources because of the huge VRAM they can provide! Especially architectural scenes with lots of plants etc. would benefit a lot... not talking about the M6 on the horizon with probally double GPU numbers...
Please put it in the trello list for future updates! I think there are a lot of people out there looking forward to MACOS-Render Nodes!
thanks for the good work so far!
Martin

Totally agree!
These should be available!!!!
As I see it - right now you guys have a big advantage over redshift … i.e. you’re not paying for a full seat to do just a render node and you don’t have to copy over plug-ins even
I feel you need to start leveraging this better in marketing but get your act together on the mac side
