Updated the first page with OctaneX-PR6 for Catalina Macos build links. I keep them under this topic because it's based on the 2020.1.5 plugin structure.

We need a Denoiser. The 30xx was released in September and is now approaching 2021. We need a Denoiser. 2020.2.RC4 looks stable.

i would like to post this to get some feedback and awareness about one issue i encountered recently which caused lots of crashes and a time consuming scene debugging session.
i was getting some difficult to track down but repeatable crashes with C4D R21 and this (but also previuos) version of the plugin. here's the story: i'm working on a very complex archviz scene and tried to reorganize the scene recently. to keep things clean and safe, i used a few "protection" and "interaction" tags and regrouped lots of elements in the scene with null groups to make everything easier to handle. after i reorganized the scene, i had a lot of crashes when starting to use using live viewer and also when rendering to picture viewer. sometimes immediately, sometimes after a while and when interacting with the live viewer.
i tracked it down mostly to the tags. after removing them i didn't get almost no more crashes.
is this a known problem? are there any known issues when using these tags and/or grouping or nested grouping in c4d - octane scenes?
cheers markus

I thought it was just me. Hopefully get some feedback from the team.

SSShhhhhh, dont bother the devs, they are super busy bringing octane to firefox or chrome or any other useless app before addressing the bugs for the current users. . .

I'm working on 2020.2-RC4 sdk. There's a lot of things to be adapted for new OCIO workflow. Takes time!

Take your time, Aoktar! Better do it slow and right than fast and full of bugs!
Besides... this forum section addresses only C4D plugin develpment, not Octane for Firefox or google...
Cheers!

So that such questions did not appear, it was necessary on the first page to indicate the current limitation for video cards of the 3x series.
The whole forum is littered with such questions

To confirm - we don't use the Optix denoiser in any way - our Spectral AI denoiser is completely custom built by us for Octane (for much higher quality), and depends on NVIDIA CuDNN (which NVIDIA initially broke with Ampere, but didn't fix until month later which is why we are only now able to get ampere support working with 2020.2).on MacOS we have the AI Denoiser working with Metal/AVX2 on Intel/AMD/Apple hardware.
Understandably but its still something that works in engine. Max and Maya had the RC candidate already for awhile, while C4D users not only dont have denoiser working but it freezes the system if you forget to turn it off during the final render. It wasnt even stated that the 3000 series cards are not supported on the plugin page at release, how is this acceptable for a commercial render engine.
