Edit: I had SLI on when doing that test. I did a new one with it turned off and got about 0.02 point increase and more memory to use.

And I am proud that my laptop delivers an impressive:

0.88 Ms/s ultra fucking powered by a proud Quadro3000m. Youhou!

Those super bigass PC's of yours won't ever compete this kind of machinery, MouAhahah!

So, I better get back those 4 unpacked gtx680 from my basement...
Oh wait, I don' have a basement.

@badmilk69:

Well you know, as some of you I think, I had an early encounter with 3DDesign on Amiga500, and a very passionate relationship with 3DStudio1.0, Dos version an old intel 286i@25Mhz (turbo mode activated...).

That's my definition of slow rendering.

Even on my tiny rig, I can tell Octane is a fantastic rendering engine which will change the way we are making images, for the technique AND the artistic parts.
I can't wait to pull it under stress on an ambitious project!

and to insult my beautiful laptop. She is very touchy about those things.

But I bought it last sunday, that's 6 days ago, and I already went online to get a look at the prices for 2*GTX 680... Damn it costs a kidney!!!
But what the hell? Theoriticaly we can live with only one...

@FrankPooleFloating:

Thanks FrankPooleFloating. Very kind and warm welcome.
I'm very new customer so I wil have to "learn the way of the octane..." (wiseman on the mountain voice ON). But I love the way to work and to build your image. I just did a short commercial in a only 4 days delay, and I wouldn't have been able to deliver it without Octane. Her's the video:

Great community also.

Just installed the upgraded PSU and EVGA GTX680 Classified today. Stock speeds. Will start tweaking the card once I know everything is stable. It's great to finally be able to use Octane properly and start to incorporate it into my workflow!
**Update**:

Have been tweaking the Classified with EVGA Precision X. Have managed to get it stable at GPU: 1319Mhz Mem clock: 3601Mhz. This gave me a boost up to 4.04Ms/sec in Octane 1.10 - The 1.11 RC is even faster, full scores below. I think we need the ability to put the Octane version in the benchmark form as it's getting faster...

OctaneRender 1.10
no alpha shadows
octane_benchmark.ocs

EVGA GTX 680 Classified - stock PT 3.15Ms/sec - o/c PT 4.04Ms/sec

OctaneRender 1.11 RC
no alpha shadows
octane_benchmark.ocs

EVGA GTX 680 Classified - stock PT 4.08Ms/sec - o/c PT 5.05Ms/sec

I make that a 60% increase in speed (from stock 1.10 to o/c 1.11 RC) :shock: :D

With my 2x580GTX 1.5GB I have de performance decrease :
- with 1.0 : PT 8.27 Ms/s
- with 1.1 : PT 8.24 Ms/s
- with 1.11 : PT 7.90 Ms/s

and when loading the mesh, it lost the path for texture (V1.11)
