Hi Face_off -
i just read that you said you will start with the OSX version (in December) - did you have any news when you will start?

I wait for it i think 3 years now - and every time the developer said he must do the PC version first.
ok - but why can devoloper like aokter always release both version so nice and quick?
Do the devoloper change information and tips - to make the plugins better. Or is there a kind of competition?

In short it would be very nice to get a osx version soon :-)

cheers
carsten

OSX versions are generally much more difficult to bug, so I like to get the Windows version highly stable before trying to get it running on OSX. I dont think the DAZStudio plugin is quite there yet - but soon! Aokter released the Windows version prior to the OSX version of the C4D plugin too.

It doesn't do this with every figure. The scene contains about 4 figures parented to a group hierarchy and 3 out of them will be horribly slow to manipulate after a quick OCDS preview. I also made absolutely certain real time smoothing is always OFF since the effect reminds me of it being ON.
Once you open the OctaneRender window, even after you close it, Octane will continue rendering, and geometry changes will be being transferred to Octane. I have asked t_3 how I can change the plugin behavior to STOP Octane rendering once the Viewport is closed, but not heard back. Try setting Final Render ON and see if that resolves the issue. Also, does re-opening your current duf scene fix the issue? Finally - if you can give me a scene which does this which just has the standard Genesis figures in it - I can investigate further.

Reloading the scene does not clear the behavior, DS has to be restarted. OCDS literally hijacks DS. :(

If you can send me a sample scene which has just standand Genesis figures in it which demonstrates this problem I will take a closer look.

The default figures alone don't cause the issue. The scene must be moderately complex for the lag to register. Because the plugin updates perpetually after the viewport opens; the more complex the geometry, the more noticeable the lag.

The default characters are mildly poly heavy, I think G2F/M was the heaviest. You could see if loading up a bunch of them causes it (I can't get it to without slowing Daz Studio itself down, but this applies for me regardless of scene complexity or makeup, even in vanilla Studio). Or perhaps use some of the default tutorial content? Everyone should have that, at least, but I'm afraid it's probably on the leaner side as well. That's all the ideas I have. :/

I need someone to send me a scene which exhibits the slowdown in order to look at a fix for it.

Not to be a stick in the mud but sharing DAZ content that you didn't make yourself, is not allowed (free or bought). Even if both parties have the items.
Specially with the new security you'll want to be carefull with that...

Sharing a scene file only calls for the assets, it does not contain them (as far as Daz Studio content goes), hence the requests and suggestions involving a scene with only assets everyone should have for said scene file to call upon. the composition of the scene (which is all that's saved) is the creator's property, and can be distributed in whatever manner they choose, as far as the Daz EULA is concerned. The distribution of the assets themselves is not allowed.
