Yes, the issue with black shadow has a solve, but agree, it looks strange, to solve in PS result of a 600 buckses renderer ))
And sorry, but where have you seen 75 samples? In this scene final render settings, samples is set to 900 as minimum. In some early Octane versions there was no such problem, just slightly noisy Shadow pass.
I didn't notice that you had overwrite settings enabled for PV. I was looking at the render settings in the LV where it was 75.

hello aoktar
Is there any problems with instances?
Textures are not displayed in render, but ipr shows everything ok

have you tried another scene?

I'm writing here dublicate of my post in the thread of v2018.1-R3 viewtopic.php?f=85&t=71065&start=100#p361102
because the issue appears in almost all versions, in this one including... and I have no answer in that thread

Rendering XParticles, simple scene, a few polygonal objects, one material....
2x 1080ti - 3m 03s
1x 780 - just 26 seconds !!!

sounds like a joke

of course, 780 is used on motherboard direct, for display... and 1080ti cards through risers.
But.
No more situations like that. Speed of 1080tis over polygonal scenes is much higher than single 780, as it should be.
Issue is just with particles render. What the... ))))

May be anyone knows what to do? )
1st - 2x1080ti<br />2nd - 1x780
1st - 2x1080ti
2nd - 1x780

Please use GPU-Z for monitoring the sensors of the GPUs while rendering:
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
In particular, check Temperature, GPU Load, and Power Consumption values.
ciao Beppe

Hello, bepeg4d
I'll do check with GPU Z in a few days, but the issue of speed loosing is appearing on 2 (two) different PC machines.
The logic of particles render issue the same:
onboard.GPU=fast
through.riserGPU=slow

Ah ok, everything is clear now.
During animation rendering, it is necessary to update a lot of data frame by frame, so slow raisers are a bottleneck, especially with particles rendering.
Slow raisers are good only for static rendering, since after scene loading, GPUs are fast like "onboard" GPUs.
ciao Beppe

Thank you for the answer, but I can't agree with you because of example scene I meant in this topic is a single frame static rendering. Not animation.

I've just tried to render another scene. Static, one shot.
No XParticles, but with octanescatter object.
1st render was with 1080ti+1080ti+1080 (risers) - time 1m10s
2nd render was with single 780 (direct onboard) - time 1m30s
3rd render was with single 1080ti (riser) - time 1m51s
It's new for me. I'm frustrated....
GPU Z log file attached to a message

Preparing time was around 12s for onboard, and 14 for risered cards.

Hi

In the last days I have a lot of crash with denoising. Now the Octanelog says:

denoiserThread0: <:
. Restart required
not all the passes requested for tonemapping are enabled

Any solutions?

MAC 10.13.6 + GTX 1080Ti - Driver NVIDIA 387.10.10.10.40.105
SLAVE Win 10 + 3x GTX 1080Ti + 2x GTX 980Ti - Driver NVIDIA 419.67

Thanks
