Looks good Chopper...got a nice wet look going there.... the bump looks a bit high..but maybe if you lower the shinyness it might look more realistic... you might also play with a falloff node that ads to the realism... tiny bit of velvet effect....what is tne node setup you are using?

Stage one the good default character in the poser.
Go to your octane render. Materials TAB
For this experiment I will only be using the face of the model
Right click on the surface face glossy node (we will need this from later)
copy node
Stage II
Open up your live database with in octane
The look for materials>skins. Tony sculpted skin
Stage III
This should be the result after you selecting the live database skin
I know it looks a bit weird but hang on all will become apparent
Stage IV
Again go to the octane render materials tab
Open up the skin face node
The first material tab (then right click the mouse pace the node that you previously copied into the materials tab
Retaining the existing image maps
If you've done this correctly you should get the same results as a displayed here
This may may vary with lighting setups models etc the principles are exactly the same
And finally you may want to change this setting your have to play around with it to get the right setting will looks good to your I what looks good to you
And here is to finish results
What exactly do you mean by tiny bit of velvet effect...?
Is this in the node setting I don't know about I'm not heard the term before

Very good explanation. Take a part of the character and gonto live db.... go to cloth materials and load a velvet material... when you have done that, copy the falloff node ofvthe velvet material and paste it over the falloff in tony's material.... you wil also have to change the way the bump is displayed withh the tony skin. When youndo it the way you did now, you are not using the characters bump settings..... its quite complicated..... pop me a mail.... ill send you a tony sculpted material poc that actually works without giving the skin a darkish tint also.

This looks good Chopper. The latest skins Im working on is being adjusted to give a realistic sss effect on a max depth as low as 2 which gives quite a lot of speed improvement and you dont lose so much of your darker texture detail.

Can you explain, what you mean with this (characters bump settings), please?
I'm curious now =)
Usually I use a turbulence node, for bumps. But since Octane uses global coordinates for these kind of nodes only, and not object specific, it's not looking good on all occasions. Espec. when using it on the lips and you tilt/bend the head, hehe ...

I use a turbulence node, for bumps as well. you would have to ask Witpapier about this in more detal
After many hours of experimentation. I'll expect many more for 2014.
These my two favourite renders at the moment. The bottom one is my favourite simply entitled pink. As I think it's relays how the skin works.
Witpapier Has kindly sent me his pOC or is poe. I'd never remember which is which.
Which I still need to do experimentations on

Hi Eric. Each character in poser has a bump map, a texture map and a specular map. Using the bump map of the specific character instead of a turbulance node give a effect as the character designer intended. So you will have creases where the skin texture displays creases and you wil have pore holes where the skin displays pore holes... the Tony skin has a interesting approach to sss.. quite a complicated structure... but it took me a lot of tweaking to get it to work well with poser characters. It also creates a darkened effect on the skin when you render. I have found that one can get same sss effect with a much simpler sss structure. Im leaving the South Coast today ... heading home... I will upload some pics of what Im talking about.
