last week we have upgraded Octane to V4 and since day one
we have encountered the same issue with render queue.
the RAM gets full and Cinema 4D not respond.
The scenes aren't particulary heavy so the first was rendered without problems,
but with the progression of render queue the system-RAM go full and Cinema4D can't refresh that for next files,
so the rendering will stop.
attached the screenshot of render queue.
thanks in advance for any usefull suggestion.
Do you have animated sequence, octane objects as scatter or volume, etc?
we don't have external animated sequence like "alembic" or similar,
we have only one object with 360 turn around.
The only Octane-object-tag is applied on this one as you can see in attached image.
one thing we can observe in general with multi-frame timeline is that :
when the renders process (all frames) is complete, Cinema4D can't release the used system_RAM.
So the next file to be render in render queue don't find empty system_RAM
we encounter the same issue with single files with many frames.
thanks in advance

Just so you have more information about my scene, the only materials were specular, and diffuse with an emission. Some scenes use X-Particles where there would be an Octane Object Tag on the emitter, set to render particles as spheres.

Hi Folks,
Working with R19 and Octane 3.xx (last stable) I had a outdoor scene, rendering 4k images in under 10 minutes. Got job done.
Working now with R20 and Octane 4.0, same scene seemed to work fine. Suprisingly got request for more images.
Everything is set and .... same image/scene tells me it will render 20 - 30 minutes. And it seems to really need more VRAM meaning it needs "out of core" RAM now.
I am using the same settings as before, no denoising.
Question:
Is it just me or anybody else experiencing this? What is the magic button i have to click?
To be honest i know two updates (C4D and Octane) at once are much and i don´t expect a complete solution, but a hint on possible mistake would be awesome. Back to OC 3.XX Stable would be great...
Thanks, Chris

Hey Chris, this is a known bug.
It looks like it was fixed in the 4.01 update in the core (which was released just today). It probably won't take long until the C4D plugin is also updated to 4.01.
Stay tight a little while longer or roll back to 3.08 for the time being.

Hi, I think I've come across another bug in regards to Render Passes with the AI Denoiser.
Here's the Reflection Indirect pass:
And here's the Denoised Reflection Indirect pass:
As you can see, the phone received some denoising compared to the standard Reflection Indirect pass, but the plane that the phone is lying on (a highly glossy white Universal Material) doesn't receive any denoising at all.
What's happening? I've spotted this behaviour only in the Denoised Reflection Indirect and partially in the Denoised Remainder passes. The others are fine and look as expected.
So is this a bug? Or is something else causing this noise? Thanks for letting me know.

When using Octane object with "Hair rendering" tag on Spline octane wont update position of this spline.
Changing scale of spline is ok, but when you are trying to move it around - no update.
Force update enabled.
Help! =(

Many possibilities! Of course, I need a scene.

Just create a empty scene with a circle spline and drop on it Octane object tag with Hair enabled. Lauch Live Viewer and try to move spline. Or animate its position. You will see no update. But changing scale is ok.

It's updating on me! What's your C4D version? OS?
