Interesting. There's no change in livedb since some version. Any bugreport.zip and more details?

Have you checked sample scene under the download links?
I haven't yet added vertexmap entry to node editor. But it's not an obstacle to use it.
Thanks Ahmet, I'd missed the small link in the first post.

So the regular Vertex Map tag works no problem. How about Vertex Color Tags, those still don't work for me.

cheers

It looks like a compilation flag problem. I'll fix and re-upload links. Sorry for confusions.

I'm getting the dreaded "There is no CUDA device which is supported by Octane Render" error in Cinema4D
I've installed CUDA 8.0.53, and C4D 18.028. I'm on the latest Macbook Pro with Radeon Pro 460 4096 MB Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB

I can confirm the LiveDB crashes on the latest build. opening a blank project, and trying to download random materials from the livedb, C4D will hang and eventually crash with a octane error message 8 out of 10 times.

Best,
Guy

I've tried with just a C4D vertex map shader but that doesn't work (shown below):

I also can't see a Vertex node in the Octane dropdown:

This is all in R18.028 and the latest plugin build (3.04.5)

cheers,

Just do what you did and then add an Octane tag to the object.

i can confirm crashing c4d with bugreport. latest versions of plug, standalone and r18.
blank scene, created camera and sky/sun, a sphere and a ground plane. added octane mat, opened livedb.
then downloaded random materials from livedb, attached to scene, liveviewer worked normal.
repeated that 7 or 8 times. first unnormal behaviour: a material won't download, no patience, click an other material and click another one and click download, nothing happens, third one... nothing happens... but first livedb window does not react to mouse clicking,
then a few seconds later also c4d interface doesn't react to mouse clicking, then pop-up with crash-report appears.

here's a zip to all files collected during crash:

If I am not mistaken, octane at the time only works with nvidia cards.
