I was able to install it. However, octane x Plugin for Cinema 4D is not rendering for me. It gives me an error of the GPU device is not selected. I tried to select my GPU from octane settings but keep unchecking by itself
Any thoughts
Same problem here, with a Radeon Pro 555X...
Thanks !

@ keithrondinelli1974: about default Light/Environment, add an Environment node set to black color, or go to Settings/Environment.
About DayLight, the c4d Sun Expression is disabled by default, so you can free rotate the sun, you need to go to Sun Expression/Basic tab and enable it, to be able to change date-time:
@ davidpreta: nope, only Navi/Vega AMD GPUs at the moment.

So I have a request, is it possible to set the preview scaling option? So that the Retina screen does not display the image in accordance with its pixels, which are simply too small.
Now only a tiny fragment scales, which doesn't help at all.
THIS! I've been looking for this feature in the CUDA plugin for C4D since I switched from Redshift.
On point! OTOY, please replace this little square with a full zoom of the preview and adjust the image to the retina so that it is not so small.

Scaling the canvas of live viewer is on my TODO list. It's complicated for me than you estimate because of current features of Live Viewer. So not will come immediately or soon

keithrondinelli1974 wrote:For newcomers wishing to emulate traditional Cinema 4D displacement using the C4D noise shaders, there are some settings and other tips that I've managed to work out:
1) Feed your C4D noise into a Baking Texture node. Bump up your resolution to 1024 or even 2048.
2) Add a Texture Projection to the Baking Texture and set it to Box.
3) Feed your Baking Texture into a Displacement Node set to Vertex Displacement, check on Auto Bump and set the subdivision level to somewhere around 4. Mid Level set to 0.5 helps keep the general shape of your geometry.
4) Feed this into the Displacement channel of your Shader.
Could you make screen shots please.
I don't know why bump and displacement not work for me.

As a temporary solution, I recommend installing the free
Display Menu application from the Mac AppStore. You can (literally) change the screen resolution. Thanks to this, the image from Octane Live Viewer will be larger. It works great !!!

Right now the team is hard at work on Octane X | PR1.1 which will include fixes for the bugs reported to so far in PR1, and integrate general changes/fixes being made in tandem with 2020.1.5 CUDA.
Based on feedback, we are talking to apple/AMD folks about whether it may be possible to back-port some of the metal features to pre-vega GPUs, but it is still not likely to be viable. But we’re going to make 100% sure anyway...
Is there an ETA for when the Octane X for Blender plugin demo will be available? I had the impression from earlier comments that it would be available within a few days of the standalone demo having been made available (i.e. was hoping this week). Will it be a while for Blender?

As a temporary solution I use additional 1440p monitor just for Octane X realtime view window (Blender).
A tip for 4K/5K/Retina displays - try use:
- native resolution external resolution ('More Spaces' monitor settings)
- switch to full MacBook resolution e.g. with EasyRes app

Modo does not work. Paul said in his plugin thread that it would not be the plugin. ???
Which Modo Version do you use at Otoy for testing?
Still not working with Modo 14.1v1 :

I thought the AMD Radeon Pro SSG 16 GB + 2 TB SSG was a vega architecture
