I will investigate but monitor GPU is already disabled, as with eGPU on Mac the monitor is from the internal AMD cards but Octane uses the 2x1080Ti.
What I am curious about is why such a huge slowdown from 4.0 to 4.01.
I just reinstalled 4.0RC7R4 and it's literally twice as fast. Scene has an HDRI, some small lights, DoF, and at 3000samples the difference is 42 mins on 4.01.1 vs 21 mins on 4.0RC7R4. Just doing dev now so would of course aim to bring the time down but an increase of50% is a bit odd considering nothing on the machine changes except a .01 version difference. Is the core really that different from 4.0 to 0.01?

Happy new year
Priorities dont play ball well here, they keep changing randomly.
Plus, this version doesnt behave like 3.08 which was super smooth in viewport. I have to completely disable the 1st GPU even if priority is set to low (which im not even sure its considering it.
Let me know. Thanks

From my understanding when I updated to 4.0 (various R releases), while I had to update CUDA and drivers on PC, Mac was fine to use existing.
I may have missed some vital information in a post? I tend not to update if everything is stable. As I said in previous post, changing from 4.0 to 4.01 (with no other system change) sees a huge slowdown in performance, while working in C4D with LV on and when rendering to PV.
Thanks
and Happy New Year!

I've come across an issue, where the Object Layer Color and the Shadow Passes don't match.
Here's the combined image I get - see the bright line on the edge of the object?
This is the Object Layer Color Pass on its own (the object color is red and with the green and blue channels set to the red channel it comes out white).
And this is the Shadow Pass.
Now when I use the Object Layer Color Pass to cut out the object from the Shadow Pass, the same line occurs.
Ergo, the two passes don't match, by quite a bit. Is this a bug and how can I fix it? Cheers!

Not sure if already asked but please disable denoising for Mat ID passes - it breaks them.

Hi sdanaher,
I didn't use any denoising in this render. Any idea, why this happened anyway?

Sorry Ferdinand13 - not meant for you, meant for Ahmet as a global comment.

Hi, splines do not render in PV while i see em in LV when inside a cloner.
Is that a limitation or did i do something wrong?

Hey, I hope nobody minds me bumping this again, but I haven't heard any reply and I'm desperate to solve this. My entire workflow for this project is based on the shadow pass matching all the other passes, that I need to get this fix. Anybody got an idea what could cause this discrepancy between the shadow pass and the object layer color pass? Ahmet maybe? Thanks for letting me know!

Hi,
my suggestion is to install the latest Apple Security Update for Sierra, and update the drivers to 378.05.05.25f12:
