Hi Goldisart,
portal material, does not work as in fstorm, vray etc.
His name could cause confusion.
This material is used to "indicate" where to go out to the light.
This is to prevent looped light rays that may generate noise.

.. also I'm gonna put this out here just so you have it in the back of your minds..

Does the otoy company realise how much of a screw up they did going against fstorm
- I am now seriously experiencing how very influential and proficient 3dmax octane users now switched to the F - because of this fact - and they give tutorials and more support to fstorm and provide more content than I've seen them with octane ..
- even though octane still has more features, people changed their mind, they like the fstorm approach

- it's getting pretty serious, cause those guys have the attention of hundreds of people - that's how much likes they get for each post (of things made with fstorm) ..

- you will have to impress them 3 times over in order to switch back - you should realise that - just went over some of those guys patreon pages - cause they have good content, and they are all going to fstorm, almost no content from them from octane, which I was actually eager to take a look at..
- you can see it clearly how they switched from providing octane tutorials, and now just going to fstorm

..so going free with the software was a great approach, cause now there are hundreds of very active users - I have never seen an octane group constantly having hundreds of likes on posts - in a short amount of time it gained a lot of traffic, it didn't happen to octane in like 5 years, and some 3rd party developers started giving support to materials - so our LiveDB never lived up to it's potential, materials weren't really updated in years

- and this is only for max - the whole facebook octane community (c4d, maya, modo etc) has same or less exposure - so there is a big max community out there, seems like you just failed to reach it

I noticed during material conversion that Roughtness always converts to 0,0 no matter how it was set in Vray?
Is it only me?

Hi mbetke,
I'm testing the conversion of V-Ray materials in glossy material; by next week I should send my test developers.
This is a test about roughness and looks good; I encountered some issue with IOR and RGB but not with Rglossiness.
I would be very interested in your issue, could you kindly share two files with your V-Ray material and Octane converted material?
