Hello Karba,
i have a request/suggestion to make about the material preview.
Can you PLEASE make custom previews for materials. When you double click on a material slot, the window that will pop up will be the same one that is in stand alone material preview.
I usualy spend a LOT of time perfecting my materials because i think they are responsable for a realistic scene.

I have an example of how it can look. :D

I hope this can be done, and other users will also find this useful.

And maybe in the future we can even have a few different light setups to choose from and even use our own object.
Who is with me on this one ?
Thanks.

The main reason of single sphere preview is because it is very simple, light and can run with main render in parallel. We use geometrical sphere there, not triangulated mesh.
Material preview is not for final material setup, but just for distinguishing materials in material editor.
