How long until we can expect 1.5 in Max?

hey karba
this 4 times speedup, have you seen it?
that sounds nearly to good to be true.
btw we just completed the image work for an architectural competition. ten 5000k images and massive use of forest pack. Octane did a great job there, we are very happy. Thanks for your efforts.
Now we have one month to do an animation out of the scene for the presentation.
This is the first time we took the "risk" to really use octane as the main production renderer, and it was worth it.
cheers

As been told.. 4x speedup will not happen in every situation, but in scenes containing great amount of emitters. That's because of new light sampler (as i understood).
But it will clean noise a bit faster in other scenes too.

Karba,
Would it be possible for you to integrate turbosmooth modifier with render.
Right now it works only if it's seen in viewport. If I set the turbosmooth iterations as would just smooth it in rendertime. It doesnt work.
Would it be easy for to re calculate the smoothed mesh when we submit final render.
Also I was wondering if you can do a reverse engineering to re convert the Octane materials to Vray or MR.
I know it won't be accurate enough but it would be aweasome in my case.
Best,

Best,
This all all very usefull to me as well. Many times I find myself hand converting Octane to MR for certain reasons.

Guys I prepared a Lightselect script.
I guess it's pretty handy
Check it out

I found a very annoying bug. Dont know if it is max 2014 or Octane. when I save render presets in max to be used in batch render setup some parts of the octane render setup will be saved in the render preset, even if I only save the "common" part in the preset. As I said. dont know if its octane or max: 2014 of max is buggy!
