Looking forward to it.

That is Saturday in NZ. Will license servers and support etc be all ready to go with the onslaught of license requests etc...

My two cents.. (Might get a lot of disagreement from others.) Wait until NZ Monday if there is a chance that the new plugin will require unique licensing help or there might be even more angry folks : > )

Just a thought.... unpopular though it nay end up bing : > ))

Is the Linux then at the start in the alpha?
I know there is a problem with the Octane V3 API for plugins under Linux.

I've been waiting a long time to v3 Version.

Sorry for my bad English.

@p3taoctane and @all

You can evil pester now ;)

Not gonna release today.

For one builds for 2014 and 2015 still fail.
Secondly not gonna leave you guys without support and the basic tutorial I'm gonna put up after releasing for volumes and the new nodes over the weekend.
No need for more frustration.

Kai

No need of more frustration ?!

Where is the alpha release then?

I would suggest a free V3 Plugin Upgrade for all existing users to compensate at least a part of the frustration.

Hey,

I get everyone's frustration, but seriously. Have you ever developed software? Given how little time Kai's been on this its a miracle he's even brave enough to post an alpha.

Like everyone else, I've been frustrated by the 2.0 inadequacies of the Maya plugin, but I also want to be reasonable with the realities of someone essentially rearchitecting the plugin from scratch.

To have an alpha after a few short months is nothing short of a herculean achievement.

And before everyone complains about Otoy not putting more resource into this, we pay a few hundred dollars for this plugin, not a couple of thousand. If I'd dropped $2,000 on this I would expect a 3 man dev team. But the plugin is less than $300 US.

Do I feel like Maya implementation has been botched in the past? Yes. But going forward, let's be realistic about what Kai can achieve.
