still I'm not sure whats the right way to deal with textures:
Should I always use f.e. in diffuse:
Texture - C4doctane - ImageTexture - and from there - load a bitmap?
Or can I load a bitmap directly?
Also will be there a possibility to use "filter" ?
And Octane and C4D crashes when closing C4D "API-Error"
(Luckely only when closing C4D and not during work)

most prefered is octane image texture or standart bitmap with octanematerial.
Filter don't works. You can only octane texture nodes

Hi,
Filters don't works! OK. This is already an answer to my problem of texture. Instead of going through photoshop, I use a lot the filter in C4D.

Ahmet,
It seems when you create a new specular material in 0.3.4 the settings are not actually set correctly for it to be transparent. Transmission float is set to 0 by default, should be set to 1. Just a heads up.

Actually, there seems to be a LOT wrong with specular materials.... almost everything I'm trying doesn't affect the material in viewport. Roughness, Bump, Index, etc... all update in material preview but show nothing in viewport.
Edit: Older specular materials that I've made in past versions work fine if I copy/paste them into the new scene, seems to be just newly created spec materials from 0.3.4.

did you restart? Account system tweaked
Edit: Are you sure that's last version. Beta 0.3.4 menus and icons has new stuff.

Hi,
the biggest problem for me (also with new version 34) is the disappearing/loosing of texture bitmaps.
I create one texture with a octane image texture in diffuse channel.
As soon as I create a second texture with a bitmap and apply it to another
object, the first texture looses its bitmap.
Is there a workaround for this at the moment?
thanks
Mike

Hi aoktar,
here are some screens.
In this case I first added a plane and a diffuse mat with a road-bitmap (tex_1).
Second I added a sphere (converted) with a wood texture in the imagetexture channel (tex_2).
Third I added a C4D sun and a OctaneLight tag.
Now the ground texture disappeared (tex_4)
I'm going crazy because of this!
Does others have this problem too?
thanks
Mike

for last picture, there is only a object in Object Manager. where is ball and sun? Also OctaneLight Tag is works arealights only. For sun you have to put DayLight Tag.
there is templates of usage:
